When I mean normal, I'm referring to the non-gamers (I have a biased view on this because I consider gamers as people who are above the norms). I think the whole relationships and making relationships work out in the gaming world is different compared to the 'normal' side of things.

First off, I'd like to say love has been killed, mutilated and downright destroyed by MMOs nowadays. In a lot of F2Ps out now one of the key features most games have is the marriage system. It has to be taken into consideration that people can just get hitched and break up in MMOs, I think this reflects now the idea of how 'love' works out.

Why get married when you can just have fun and 'love' someone online? , says one of my numerous friends who have taken the next step in online relationships by meeting their so-called online partner. All of my friends who have undergone through this so-called 'love' thing online didn't have an online partner of the same gender.
While I say that romance would never die in MMOs because people (especially guys, no offense dudes I'm a guy myself too) can just sweet coat whatever they want and make their unknowing partner swoon like crazy. It's sad that most of the stories I hear from people go like this:
Woah, I went with my
Hahaha, she's hot that's why I "courted" her online by giving
It's sad how people take advantage of a game feature and take it to those kinds of extremes, but heck it's sad overall because we don't really need games to do these kinds of things. It's like our black secret in our society where loose morals and looser sweet talkers are rampant and getting what they want.
I'm not saying that love in MMOs is totally dead however, I have heard, met and have friends who started out in MMOs as "partners" who eventually got married in real life and are now happily married and even playing the game they were part in more than ever.
As long as real people still cling on the idea of having real love in MMOs I think there's still a chance for love to live in the MMO world.
